I want to go see Alice in Wonderland this weekend and the cinemas in my area offer both versions. I haven't seen Avatar so I don't know what to expect. My last memories of 3D was the early 90's watching Edward Scissorhands with 3D glasses which tinted the screen green and red. I was not impressed. I would love to read people's opinions thanks.

Hi to all I browse but don't post in here much.

I've just finished watching avatar that was "ahem" downloaded. I really enjoyed it but having seen some things at the imax in 3d I think it would be amazing to se it in 3d.
3D Imax is how James Cameron intended "Avatar" to be seen. I took the parents to an Imax screening as my father's birthday treat, and virtually everyone in the theatre was going "WOW! " afterwards. It's just a totally immersive experience.

True, "Avatar" isn't the greatest or most original story ever, and I'll be disappointed if it wins the "Best Film" Oscar, but it's a genuine "event" movie, and we don't get to say that often nowadays...
