Basically, it's a similar problem to what people feared would happen back in 2000 with the millennium bug. The internal clock is trying to convince itself that today is February 29th as if it was a leap year, when it isn't, and this is forcing it to reset itself and this then creates all the problems. Sony are praying like crazy to every god in existence hoping that the problem will fix itself at midnight tonight.

If it doesn't, things should get interesting...

I was sent this: http://twitter.com/PlayStationEU to check for updates.

The advice is not to use the PS3 until the problem is sorted, they reckon 24 hours. I know my son cant sign in at the moment (he's had the raving hump)

Oh and for PS3 enthusiasts, there are 2 games just out on the market that my boy's screaming about, Alien V's Predator and Hard Rain (he's getting these for his birthday next week).

I just cant believe how expensive these games are?? 40 quid a throw. Luckily, he does play them to within an inch of their life and then trades them in at Gamestation for credit for more games, so IMO there's no wastage unlike other toys/gifts. It's a really good scheme that Gamestation do (you get more if you trade in for credit towards other games rather than cash)

Oh shooting, blood, gore, aliens
Probably call of duty: modern warfare 2

Prices are dropping on it aswell, I wouldnt bother getting Heavy Rain...  not at the moment as its around ÂĢ40.I enjoyed it but its not a shooting game. Its abit too short aswell, could be completed in few days

Its difficult to say what genre Heavy Rain is though, probably a thriller/adventure game with unique gameplay that has to be experienced to truly understand. Even the experts and pros struggle to grasp what this game is, it is unique.

He's already got it (He always gets the latest 'must have' ones, which is why the exchange scheme is so good) I'll see if there are any other games he wants, but he's only mentioned those 2 so far.

Oh and did you know that (apparently) PS3 games cant get scratched? So it's just as good buying a pre-owned copy compared to a new one (the guy in Gamestation told me this)

the only thing I can see better on an xbox is online. But even then you have to pay for it.

This is something I've been trying to find out Meaty. I started a thread here a couple of months back and someone said you can get some kind of membership whereby it's free or summat? I don't mind paying really as long as it's not too much, any idea what the cost is?
