My son (6) was sat on sofa infront of living room door and saw me fall landing in a heap in the door way, looked over at me and carried on playing his Nintendo DS!

My 3 year old did that last week - I don't know what that says about you... No worse than a 3 year old or as clumsy as one or just unlucky lol

Maybe your son was controlling you, with his nintendo!

My daughter is 17...it's only been in the last couple of years that she's stopped falling down the stairs on a regular basis

Dont say that Blizz, just shouted at daughter cos she hadnt shut the door (asked her twice) and now shes picked up her Nintendo!

ow that hurts....  when your whole body kinda jars up through your ankle to your knee and so on.

Me & Ickle have the clumsy gene...  

worse stair fall I had was from near the top... and luckily I went onto my bum the whole way down... but bruised my cox wotsit thingy... at the base of my spine.  That hurt for ages.

Most spectacular was tripping over a doorplate (that holds the carpet in place... it wasn't loose or anything)...  and went flying.. literally through the dining room and landed face first in the dog bowl area (face wasn't actually in the water bowl or the food bowl... but some of my hair went in both).

I walked into a shelf once. I still have the scar just below my eyebrow. Man that was painful!

my mum has an extractor hood over her hob....  it has really sharp pointy corners and I have taken chunks out of my head a few times on that!

Oh... and I broke my nose running into the french windows (cos I thought they were open)...  cartoon splat style!

The mental image is hilarious

That's another good reason for leaving them filthy!

I did something similar last year. For nearly a day afterwards, I was worried that I'd broken my foot - thankfully I hadn't. I hope you haven't any serious damage either, Jenstar.


I don't know who remembers the TV comedy "Brass", but my own accident reminded me of it. There was a character in it who was petrified of that final step when he climbed down a ladder. As he said, "If you fall off a ladder, it doesn't matter how far you fall: it's always those last few inches that kill you."
