Anyone recommend (or warn against) a florist type site that will deliver birthday balloons & a teddy?

Hi all

thought I would run this past you lot before I actually take the plunge and make the order.

Its my daughters birthday on Monday, and its the first time I won't actually see her on the day cos she is at boarding school.

She has rescheduled her birthday for the following Saturday when she is next home, but I want to send some balloons and a teddy to the school... to help make the day special (ok... so her day will be special anyway... its cos I feel the need to have some sort of connection on the 17 year anniversary of the day I nearly died giving birth to her!

I've had a browse through a few sites that do this... and am thinking of using one called bigfatballoons.co.uk.

Anyone used them? Or... anyone recommend a better one, or used such a service successfully that they would recommend?

ditty - i would recommend Next - they do chocs too and the flowers are always byoootiful and last for aaages

I did consider flowers Barney.... but she's at that child/adult changling stage.... and I reckon a she'd rather have a teddy (realistically... there'd be chance the flowers wouldn't even make it into a vase of water in her room!)

Actually... I don't even think there would be a vase in the sixth form boarding house... they don't even have a tin opener between them!

I can't find anything from next except flowers or booze (she ain't getting booze!)

or a gift card... but I'm not doing anymore gift cards for her... seems most of her pressies are on paper this year... tickets to see The Prodigy, iTunes voucher, Petville cash (yeah... I know!)... ,

and she has instructed all relatives (my parents, uncles & aunties etc) to just deposit cash directly into her account!

lol - nowt to do with me... I'm gutted, my dad used to bung the odd surprise into my account for me... I seem to get bypassed now and he seems to just put money in hers!

oh... and she wants a pair of Ugg boots too!

Am still umming & ahhing about those... will have to see how much money I have when I have paid all the bills and stuff.

Am thinking she could buy her own Ugg boots!

Ok... I have placed the order with the big fat balloon peeps...

a big daisy helium balloon (I do wonder how long the helium will remain in the balloon... I know what her & her fellow boarders are like!) & a 'you to me' bumble bee teddy!

So... if you anyone has any recommendations for some really fab place ... I don't wanna know now!

Yeah... I think they do Stonks...

i kinda got lost in a google dilemma! teddy, balloons, florist...

will see what happens with the order I've placed... she doesn't know about it.. so if they screw it up she won't know about it.

I was quite chuffed that all in it was £20!
