Thanks DiD, At least I managed to lose a stubborn stone in weight without dieting. Some crisis' do have their benefits.

Renton, my fella had heart failure a couple of weeks ago possibly bought on by an overactive thyroid. We thought he was gonna die But now we have spoken to the Doc the future aint as grim as we thought, he's going back to work next week

I am not surprised that you felt as you did when you were first told.
Somehow the words "heart failure" sound so dreadful.
I am sure you were both scared.

Why the hell you were sent home from the hospital with a label and no guidance is beyond comprehensible but .........................thankfully - it's all good

That's always the way Lainy   Doctor speak = panic, and speak to me in English........Get a good one , and you really do feel like kissing them.....They can't all imagine we can think, and feel in their terms.

I am glad you have got more info. from the doctor, and not from the internet. Life will now be different for both of you, but it doesn't mean life will stop. I am glad to hear that he will be back at work next week.
