Smoke and Mirrors. I think his advisors are trying to address those characteristics which annoy the GBP. We are now also entering a period where Murdoch, the bankers, and the other people who run the country, are trying to work out which party leader is best placed to continue the Thatcherite, laissez faire, market economy (31) If they come down on the side of Brown then we must expect all sorts of backtracking. Gordon routs the Taliban. Gordon brings peace to Northern Island. Gordon saves the economy. Gordon swims the channel underwater for a bet.
You know? That sort of thing.

Murdoch has shown his hand in the up & coming election, but wouldn't it be just great if Brown is able to walk back into number 10 the morning after the election, raising 2 finger to Murdoch rags.  "twofingersmiley"

As I understand it Mrs B - being a PR bod and a good mate of Piers - was behind the interview.

I don't think he does himself any favours in this day and age by being so naturally reticent about his private life. Although I understand why - he's a politician, not some celebrity anxious to have every nit and belmish spread across the pages of Hello. And compare him with Tone - charm personified which deflected totally from the fact that he is an utter tit.  Gordon may be a tit as well but at least he's up front about it.
