Gaga have put this message up on the log in page:

In many cases, email sent by LiveCloud to its members is not being delivered, without notice to us or the recipients. If you are using one of those Microsoft email accounts as your LiveCloud email address, you may not receive notifications we send you. We recommend using alternate email services like GMail.

I am now with Google mail cos I stopped getting alerts (around 2nd Dec I think) to my hotmail account.

I asked Lori about it and she said:

.........the fact that you have a hotmail account could explain things.  Hotmail is notorious for bouncing email as spam, and not even delivering to you at all.

Thanks Baby Bunny, but it's ALL emails....some have started to come through now, from this Morning...phew! I solved that problem without even doing anything...aren't I clever!

It is worrying if these providers are being "agressive" though.

Makes you wonder what isn't getting through to you.

On the hotmail issue: I'm on hotmail, and have been receiving my mail fine all week.


On the issue of LC updates: I received a whole stack of LC Chat Event notifications at the start of the week without any problems.

There may well be problems with hotmail being "overly aggressive", but I've never found it to be a big problem, and anyway I generally check my "Junk" box every now and then just to be sure.


I suspect a bigger problem is that a lot of FMs were swamped by messages when they first joined LC, and used the "nuclear" operation out of desperation to prevent all notifications. Changing to gmail won't fix that.
If you're not receiving LC notifications (only), I'd suggest checking your LC permissions first...

Eugene I only receive a couple of thing from LC, I do receive stuff from FB and that's slowly coming through now, though some are from posts on FB from this Morning!

I've had a couple of emails through, that were also sent this Morning...hopefully it'll rectify itself...

The vast majority of it will be phishing scams and adverts for "male enhancement" products...


If you're worried that you might be missing something important, make sure your hotmail settings aren't deleting "junk" mail automatically, and check your "Junk" box every so often.

Things seem to be coming through now Eugene I noticed my Computer whizz friend upstairs must've updated my ESET security, maybe that was slowing things down for a while??? Who knows...but it's more or less back up and running now
