So my return key doesn't work, right (see Friday)... and now I've just started to go to bed, right... and I got someone to replace a battery on my smoke alarm in my bedroom, right? And the bleeping thing is bleeping every 30 seconds or so until I can get someone back to rip the fecker off my wall! Got to sleep on the sofa now...

Can you not take the battery out of the smoke alarm? I had one that bleeped for months, I never got round to taking it out. My then partner used to get the hump with it even though he could only hear it through the phone. The minute he came down the first thing he did was change it
I had got so used to it I actually missed the intermittent bleeping

Well lucky you Karma! Was it in your bedroom though?... Oh, and no... can't get up to the alarm anyway. I have no available partner right now!
Neither do I I could have changed it if I really wanted to though, it's easy, you just need something to stand on, prise the top open with a knife (there's a little grrove thing where you open it) and take the battery out,.
Why do I get the feeling I'm telling someone how to suck eggs?

I think she should go for the "prod it to death with a broom handle" technique!

Something to stand on... involves ladder... involves person with ladder... you see how this is going? Reference:

Ah... yes... but then I'd have to have the bloke to remove the alarm and replace it and redecorate the area of the wall you'd battered to b**gery with your broom handle! Consequences of actions are important here .... Reference:

Good, innit? I'm amazed how little I need it here! Having said that, it does restrict my dramatic intent by not being able to return... you have tried enter I assume (or don't apple have an enter)
my question mark doesn't work very well... I have to really thump it!

It's the same key as the return one Ditty... But it has given me a great idea for another thread! What would your posts look like without the reply box constraints? In other word, if your posts fell outside the post box, what would it look like? Let me demonstrate.... [sans return key, right?} 'I am incredibly annoyed by Vinnie Jones right now.... [post disappears] and I laughed a lot at that. Nicola is behaving like a real [post disappears]... why did she do that? Alex is a proper [post disappears] and he put that bottle there?!' You get my drift? Oh hell... I'd better bunk down on my sofa... Night all! I will return soon with a return.
What always puzzles me about pc technology is, despite how far the techno stuff has reached if the mouse doesn't work anything and everything else is redundant, no chance, dead, forget about doing anything online. For some reason I get loads of problems with the mouse and often have to buy another one. Whatever heights techno stuff reaches if the mouse doesn't work forget it.
