According to Emma Willis, they key being taken out has caused BB to give them Hell (no leccy, hot water etc. Swapped sugar and salt).

So, maybe there was no use for the key and they were just waiting for the housemates to do something like this. She did say that Vinnie should have known, as he's read the rle book so many times, so maybe it is mentioned in there!

It's almost as if they asked Sov to do it - maybe in the Diary Room.  It just seemed a bit too premeditated.

I was under the impression the HMS felt the key wherever it fitted would get them treats,she deliberately went back for the key perhaps that was her parting gift to them, who knows what goes through her head..

Wouldn't put it past the spiteful brat to deliberately take something she knew would cause problems. I'm THRILLED she has gone.

Wow big deal it's a stupid key i'm glad she took it serves them right. Plus some housemates have chosen to take stuff from the house before to keep or chuck in the crowd so not a big deal really.

I wouldn't go so far as to call it a "red herring". BB often has "twist" elements that don't come to fruition for a variety of reasons. Remember the trapdoor and target in BB8? Or how about the safe that Darnell failed to crack in BB9 (with the result that his efforts didn't make the HL show)?


BB would probably have chalked this up as another example, if it hadn't been for the realization that they could punish the HMs for a rule break on a technicality...

I don't think BB thought that far ahead,but I am glad Sov took it with her as BB are using this as their reason to punish the HMS, no electricity,salt for sugar,all soft furnishings removed and replaced with wooden benches, turning the heating up ,its about time they did this.

The tree of Temptation has given Dane a task to win back a key that returns all that has been remove today.He has to empty a full bottle of hot Chilli sauce into tonight dinner,then return to the DR at bedtime and receive another key,BB was angry that they let the original key "slip through their fingers"
