Yeah that's shame, but you were still awake and caught it, maybe the xmas fairy was looking out for you eh? (I'm ever the optimist me)
Maybe you can cover it with a throw or something? I dunno if antimacassars are making a comeback.

I have had to get the brandy out too - had a little mishap - a piece of log spat out and bounced onto the sofa arm and another onto the carpet - one sad looking sofa arm and a piece of carpet now we have suffocated them with a towel - the fumes were aweful though and we had to open the windows thank god we hadnt gone to bed - but wouldnt have - we never go until the fire is nearly out first log fire this year as well
Glad it's only furnishings that are hurt Must have been awful for you though
Leccy - A bacardi or three is not a common happening for me - but now that it has, I could get used to it!!!
Mrs H = What a horrible experience for you. Thank goodness you are okay. Material things are replaceable - You are not!!

happened quite quick Low - have great respect for fire resistant products now though had walked out into the hall to sort pressies and suddenly smelt the fumes - saw the scorch on the cover and then realised something was wrong underneath - was just smoldering away everything seems fine now Add Reply
