sk the sender to mark then as second hand or a gift or under a tenner might help x

I think the only way is having the box marked as a gift... but if its coming from a 'proper website' not somewhere like ebay, i'm not really sure what you can do

Thanks Gypsie & SazBomb. I didn't think there was a way around the charges, I got caught heavily for 2 bags I bought a couple of years ago from Canada, it would have been cheaper to fly over and buy them myself.

And what was supposed to happen was Dave our Mod was supposed to offer to buy them for me and post them as a gift and I would send him the money, but my heavy hint didn't work.

Hi Essie, I too would like to know a way round this problem. Hubby orders stuff from the US and keeps forgetting we get extra charges from Customs when it's delivered lol. Saw your post earlier but didn't have time to reply then but I'd also wondered at the time if you could have it sent to Dave and then he could send it to you. Need to get Dave's attention as this is in the spirit of Christmas magic lol.

It's "Reckless Moment" 1949 it should have started at 1.55am but something must have over ran and it didn't start until 2.30am.

Did you enjoy the film?  it can be annoying when schedules overrun, moreso if it means missing out on some other programme. I was annoyed recently that a US series I'd been watching nightly on one of the Sky channels for a while suddenly disappeared one night at a really interesting point and they started showing a series about something else!! sooo frustrating when this happens  Don't understand how such things could happen, surely someone is in charge of noticing the schedule and can get their act together, grrrr. Do you know anyone in an EU country perhaps you could get them to send it to them then they could send it on to you?   I do that with my friend in Finland as they don't get charged customs charges for anything sent from the USA and she sends it on to me a few days later   no customs charges from EU!

Gypsie is right,I bought my wedding dress a few years ago from Beverly Hills,they marked it as second hand,so I didn't have to pay any duty.
