I liked Brookie in it's early days but it did become a bit implausible - or at least seemed so at the time - now all soaps are like Brookie.  Seems a waste to me.  To recollection, the last thing I heard, when the show ended, those houses were being sold privately for good prices, I guess that may be wrong.  Not being at all familiar with the geography of Liverpool or its suburbs, maybe that area is particularly economically depressed and no one's interested?

Aw... I loved Brookside too!  It was my fave!

I lurved Damien....  cried like a baby when he got murdered!

& the first Brookside late nighter.... "The lost weekend"... my mate had that on video... twas the first time anything like that had been done... the daddy to the hollyoaks late nighters now.

Tis outrageous those houses being left like that.  Surely a waste of C4 money! or whoever owns them.  Surprised they aren't crack house squats or something.

(I loved Elderado too... well I loved it the moment they announced they were axing it... it got dead good then!)

Reference:
those lovely houses are just sitting there getting damp
I can't remember the details but I am sure there was a problem with the houses...  I have a vague recollection about them meant to be put up for sale.. but for some reason (structural I think) they couldn't be put on the market.

If I could be bothered I would google it - Iater maybe...

i used to lurve brookie too so it is sad to see them like this

The houses are in Croxteth, which, like most parts of the city, has its good and bad areas

I remember the actor who played Jimmy Corkhill was part of a consortium who wanted to buy the houses and turn them into a tourist attraction, they did not win the bid

I think the builders who bought them went bust may be wrong there but they do look, from the pics, that they were in the middle of being done up ???

its sad to see anyway
