grr i can't remember, its on the bbc news site in entertainment news if anyone is interested! Looks like a good film to me
I read the book a while back when it was flavour-of-the-month but it didn't do much for me so I'll probably give the film a miss. I thought it was an odd choice for Peter Jackson after LOTR.
where do I put this >>>http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/8414131.stm

Yes I thought that too. But maybe he'll bring all his special effects into effect. I loved the book btw
I read that book years ago on while I was on in holiday in Golspie. It was a start reading and don't put down until it is finished book. Am looking forward to seeing the film, thanks for letting us know, duchess!

how did you do that Blizzie????
I read the book on recommendation back in 2004 shortly after losing my Niece, a wonderful theory was the conclusion I came to, I might go & watch the film during
the Christmas holiday if it's out by then.

I believe the full UK release is scheduled for 29th January. It looks like it will be part of the big pre-Oscar rush...

I absolutely loved this book right up until the ending which was very poor and ruined the whole thing for me. It had the chance to expand and possibly extend to a sequel but the ending was rushed and stupid imho. I will however, be watching the film

I lost my niece as well. The book certainly had a resonance for me following on from that.
i agree with pengy, was loving the book and by the time i got to the end felt a bit "oh is that it" hopefully the film will do it justice, some of my workmates never even got to the end of the book when it was doing the rounds.
