It's an interesting one isn't it? Mrs Crossy maintains that they are, but I've always said that it's a generalisation. Admittedly when I've been in contact with them at exhibitions and such I've just put down their slowness to the fact that these particular teachers were the ones the school could easily do without on the day.
Recently I've had a load of grief from one who hasn't received an ebook download at their stated email address. After several attempts and growing frustration we  eventually established that she had given me a false email, "Because I don't want any spam!" They really are thick aren't they?

Well, far from all those who teach are Crossy.....but for some I suppose the old adage, "Those who can't do teach" applies...Hope the woman in question wasn't an IT teacher
..... or those who can't teach, teach teachers, as we used to say  I knew that any real teachers, such as Mrs Crossy wouldn't be offended since they are so good at dishing it out themselves.

Some teachers teach and others lecture - I've got an example of this with my psychology teacher atm - her lessons are boring and dry and I'm so close to giving up because I hate her teaching style.  As a teacher myself, she's the worst kind but she's not thick just lazy.

The same generalisation of teachers that the OP has made could just as easily be applied to some of the parents of children in school that I've come across over the years.  I've generally found that on the whole the children who do the worst in school are the ones who are allowed to stay up late so they are tired for class, they aren't encouraged to complete homework nor do they give any help to their children if they are struggling and they are the ones that usually shout the loudest about how their little cherub is never capable of bad behaviour.  They also prefer to transfer their cherubs lack of advancement onto the teacher rather than looking closer to home for underlying reasons!

There are bad teachers, there will always be bad teachers but they are in a minority but it's unfair to assume that all teachers fit the behaviour pattern of one particular teacher that you've experienced.

Judging from what my son tells me about his teachers, and judging from his results, his teachers are on the whole better than the ones I had 30-odd years ago.  Back then, most of them scared us half to death, so that we were not exactly receptive to learning. Others simply dictated notes to us ad nauseam.  From observing my son's education, I gather that nowadays teachers do much more than rigidly stick to textbooks, and try to make subjects more relevant to real life.
