It's possibly the worse film I've ever seen in my entire life, bored me to tears, made on a budget of about ÂĢ100 and it shows

I know some that have enjoyed it, it's just not for me

Oh btw, I didn't waste money watching it, I watched it several weeks ago, elsewhere  But if I had paid money to watch it, I would have demanded my money back with menaces!

I was considering going, but I think it would scare me too much. From what I've heard, it's more to do with the power of your own imagination, rather than what is explicitly show, so I would be terrified
I don't want to discourage you from going, but that's how I saw it.
I rather enjoyed the film, although I didn't find it particularly scary. However, a lot of the (admittedly younger) audience definitely were scared - in particular the girl in front of me, who was physically shaking afterwards.

Because of the "Torture Porn" genre, I think a lot of people nowadays tend to expect horror films to be full of gore and "jumps", but I tend to prefer "ghost story" type films, which are more about dread and foreboding. This tends to mean a slow build-up, and I can therefore understand why some found the start of "Paranormal Activity" a bit dull...

Would you say a bit like Blair Witch in that respect? More the power of suggestion than anything else? I was scared by that.
I've been trying to avoid "Blair Witch" comparisons when discussing "Paranormal Activity", but yes; there are definite similarities in style - and even in story structure.

The biggest difference is that where BWP was all "shakey-cam" (which often caused motion-sickness, if nothing else!), the key moments in PA are shown on a fixed CCTV-style camera, which really forces you to focus on every tiny detail...
