no, no, no...nononononononono

NO lists.

Well, I amend that statement to say that you MAY have lists, but that those lists shall be restricted the following:

presents that you gave or received
favorite dishes
holiday songs
holiday movies
nice things that you can say about each other
nice things that you can say about other people
ummm.....hmmmm....

any other suggestions?  Let's just make a list of lists!

thanks guys but I dont really deserve the credit for christmas morning - I just go along as a helper to the Santa - my OH   had to miss last year as we were down with the flu but to explain the credit goes to the charity fund raising that OH and the association he belongs to do - they hold an annual fancy dress collecting day for the childrens pressies - come home as drunk as lords but normally with a nice pot of dosh to spend - this year was hard as many pubs and hotels wouldnt let them in because of the credit crunch but it will still continue and the pot has been topped up from elsewhere. Christmas eve one of them has to liase with the hospital and find out the list of names on the wards that day plus any visiting siblings - then we have a toy shop on stand by to supply and wrap the gifts for collection end of closing christmas eve - a lot of work goes into this annual event but it really is worth it to see the faces of the children as they sit on the ward waiting for "Father Christmas" - the nurses on each ward get a bottle of champers and choccies to share

MrsH, it doesn't really matter:  you (and MrH) could have opted to spend Christmas day with family or doing something for yourselves, so you DO get loads of credit for spending your time this way.

My OH and I (also a MrH ) usually adopt a family through the Salvation Army.  The hard part of this is the faceless part:  you are buying gifts and wrapping some of them, and then turning them over to the organization to deliver.  Not as much fun, imo, as giving gifts and watching people enjoy them.

Without this forum over Christmas I would be utterly lost!!  I am doing hospital visits all Christmas Eve and then a hospital visit on Christmas morning to deliver gifts to the children in the hospice.  My Service Dog, Remy, will be with me so she will be giving great comfort to all who are in need of a cuddle here and there. Then we will come home to an empty house!!

I have a big family who are now either married or about to be married and two sons who are engaged.
I will be here, on my todd apart from Remy (SHE DOESN'T DANCE ALL THAT MUCH AS SHE IS HEADING FOR TWELVE YEARS OF AGE. bUT SHE DOES LOVE A SING SONG!!

Therefore I hope ti see a few nice people on here throughout ''christmas 'day because it is not a nice feeling to be totally alone on that day.

No it's not nice to be alone at Christmas, and I moaned a couple of weeks ago about how I saw it all as one long slog, and having eight for dinner after working.

I'll be moaning again in a few years that they've all left home, and it feels all empty.

Better start counting my blessings
