Some pressies I ordered arrived today - all nicely boxed up and ready to be wrappped. I just had to open up for a bit of a nosey. I bought my great niece a wooden Noahs ark shape sorter thing ........absolutely lovely but I dropped it on my slate kitchen floor and a bit has broken off I was gonna get my husband to fix it but .........he takes ages to get round to anything -and my sister and all the family are here for the weekend picking up and dropping off pressies. I've put it back in the box for now ..............my nieces husband will probably make a better job of fixing it anyway. what would you do?

What a shame if it was a birthday present or christmas present I probably would not give them it I would buy something else..

Would depend how big the 'bit' was and if it could present a safety hazard
It's only a tiny corner ..........it can be mended as it's wooden - a bit of wood glue will fix it. I'm just so cross with myself.
I'd say it was damaged on arrival and exchange it for a new one
I'm with Saz on this one! Naughty, but has to be done!
Another thing to bear in mind is how old is your great-niece? If she's still small, if the little piece that you glue back on, happens to fall off, would it create a choking hazard? Got my Mario head on here. Health and Safety and all that. I'd send it back, and say it was damaged.
plus it could leave a sharp edge if its not glued back exactly flush

I did think about that but I've no time - they're coming on Friday. I might just come clean - TBH - I think it'd be OK just sanded off - it's not a major bit missing.Add Reply
