OMG Baz - I always take a tupperware dish and bring home all the cheese that people can't eat ... don't care what they think of me ... We've paid for it and I'll take it home

they say 4 courses but the 4th course is tea or coffee most of the time

 

We went out for Christmas Day Lunch many years ago ..........it was the year after my Dad died - my OH thought it would be doing me a favour!


NEVER AGAIN ...............the setting was lovely, the food excellent but ...............the feeling just wasn't there - we came home to a pristine house with no cooking smells and leftovers..............not the same - not right. It's all about family and home IMO!

Christmas lunch out on Christmas day; the biggest rip off of the year. I prefer to stay in my cozy home with my lovely family, and not give £200 plus to someone to give us £30 worth of food. Never get why people don't stay in. If you can't be arsed to cook; get 4 ready meals from Sainsburys. £2.00 each; BARGAIN!

I got a lattice topped rolled turkey from M&S one year for about 25 quid. It were bloody lush and no effort required except bung it in the oven and it fed us all no probs

I love M and S food Karma.  But it's a bit dear to shop there all the time.  The odd treat is nice though, and we always get our bread and milk and chips from there. 

that sounds like what i could do with karma, if anyone sees anything like that on sale can you give us a shout

ok I think we decided

£50 on a big piece of rib roast
like that M & S idea so thats a goer
& I'll make homemade tiramisu for dessert

oh & lots & lots of veggies & puds

then round to cousins in evening but kids will still be wired from tiramisu (pure strong coffee of course) & they can make her life hell for a couple of hours

Everyday it gets nearer
