At the Stonewall Awards last night in London Jan Moir won
"The Bigot of the Year" award.
Boyzone won "Entertainer(s)" of the Year" award. (I wanted Russell Tovey to win.)
Other awards included the Church of Scotland's first openly gay minister, Reverend Scott Rennie (Hero of the Year), and the first openly gay MP to reach the Cabinet, Ben Bradshaw (Politician of the Year).

But "Bigot of the Year" - Jan Moir, sounds right to me.

Nope, but I never expected her to. Think about it - she had to have approval from her bosses there to write that crud, and they would have had to have seen it before publication. If she had to go, so did they.

Way to go Jan Moir - her parents must be so proud

Especially with the stiff competition she had from Nick Griffin after his homophobic musings on Question time.
The Daily Mail will no doubt have the 'award' added to her byline

Bet she didn't pick up the award in person.

Despite the 21,000 complaints to the PCC it also resulted in a huge increase in traffic on the DM online webiste.

I wasn't hugely surprised at Jan Moir's article. 'The Daily Mail' is a by-word for bigotry and it takes a certain kind of person to work for that rag.
