He does have a stonking voice, Deman, as does / did (is he dead?) Gene Pitney.

Yup, He died a couple of years ago in my home city, Cardiff. Did a show, went back to his room at the Hilton and croaked.

Definitely worse ways to go. (I suppose).

 I remember it well - apparently they found him fully clothed and lying on his bed, as if he'd just laid down for a nap. At least he spent his last night doing what he enjoyed - it was a sell-out show too, apparently.

Yep...definitely worse ways to go. Pretty memorable night for those there too.


I think my favourite of that genre from that era is Roy Orbison. 'I drove all night'  makes me belt it out in the car (and go a bit cold). Velvet voice.

Omigod - In Dreams gives me goose pimples every time.
Did you know, he apparently DID dream it? He dreamed it was Elvis's new song, and that he was jealous. Then he woke up and realised it was his!

I just looked at the lyrics; I can see why he thought it might be an Elvis song! What a voice. Pity John & Edward would beat him on X Factor

 I was going to say TBH I know very little about MM. I know more about his ex wife and I've seen the band that played at their wedding several times. Twas more a comment on the way the thread was going what with insults and such, it would have been whoever was there, MM, Leona Lewis, or Felix Papalardi. I was trying to be witty but once again it backfired. I'll get me coat and do an embarrassed flouce for  the second time two days running.
