That's terrible Pengy. Poor dog.
Awww it's sad hearing about the poor pets who suffer I'm so lucky my dog doesn't even bat an eyelid, and some go off right outside but it doesn't faze him. Hope all the pets are ok tonight
There have been loads going off since 16:00. I expect that the children have been saving their fag money.

Hate Guy Fawkes night and the weeks leading up to it and after it.
Me too !!!!!They've been going off here since 5pm. Dogs are really anxious. Poor Paddy is shaking like a leaf and Daphne won't come out from under the bed.
Daphne? No wonder she willn't come out called Daphne!
But she loves her name! Probably.

One thing I would never do again is sedate my pet. I did that with my previous dog Sox - the vet gave me sedatives and said give him one and if he still is jumpy give him half of another one. I gave him half a tablet to start with and the poor bliddy dog was high as a kite - he couldn't even walk outside for a piddle
You didn't bin the rest of the them did you ?
I am quite impressed with AJ... he is just lying on the floor, sulking with us for not letting him bark his head off in the garden.
He made hubby do 5 laps of the garden earlier to get him back inside!

I'm pretending to ignore the ones outside - Milo's giving the odd woof but I'm ignoring him too
I'm so cruel

No..... Pengy... you are doing it exactly right... for his first Bonfire night.
We did that with AJ in the first year...... and though he'd love to go and bark at them... he's not nervous or traumatised now .... he is still sulking!
My parents fussed and over comforted their dog... and basically programmed him to think it was something to be worried about.... so I suspect they probably have runny dog poo all round their house at the moment!

I should add.... some dogs just hate them from the word go.... and no amount of ignoring and stuff will work (like my last dog.... he would be terrified, but feel the need to protect the family).
I've heard maybe one firework in the last week ... think people round here must feeling the pinch

I was nibbling on a piece of chocolate cake
Sorry, I have nothing apart from wanting to shove the bangers up the bums of the people who are letting them off near my house, my dogs are going mental.

Milo is asleep cuddling his smelly teddy and lo the fireworks have stopped at last
We had a lovely garden fireworks night, all of 45 mins for ÂĢ40, would have been shorter but I went for a wee half way through, it was the cold got into my bladder. We all hugged as each firework went off. The dogs were snug in their beds in the living room with the light off and the radio on playing oldies on radio Cumbria. Urm hope they didn't broadcast a firework event whilst we outside. A safe night that we enjoyed as a family.
