One thing I would never do again is sedate my pet.  I did that with my previous dog Sox - the vet gave me sedatives and said give him one and if he still is jumpy give him half of another one. I gave him half a tablet to start with and the poor bliddy dog was high as a kite - he couldn't even walk outside for a piddle
You didn't bin the rest of the them did you ?

No.....  Pengy... you are doing it exactly right... for his first Bonfire night.

We did that with AJ in the first year...... and though he'd love to go and bark at them... he's not nervous or traumatised now ....   he is still sulking!

My parents fussed and over comforted their dog... and basically programmed him to think it was something to be worried about....   so I suspect they probably have runny dog poo all round their house at the moment!

We had a lovely garden fireworks night, all of 45 mins for ÂĢ40, would have been shorter but I went for a wee half way through, it was the cold got into my bladder.  We all hugged as each firework went off.  The dogs were snug in their beds in the living room with the light off and the radio on playing oldies on radio Cumbria.  Urm hope they didn't broadcast a firework event whilst we outside. A safe night that we enjoyed as a family.
