and i was thinking about buying a router *i think thats what it is called* where she can use it anywhere in the house and i can use this one at the same time

how do i know which one to buy?

Try asking your ISP which ones they support. That way you should have a helpline to call if you get stuck.

We have the NETGEAR one too!

Never had any problems with it... and is easy to set up and use.
