Checking texts & mobile phones (other peoples.)

I understand that many people check mobile phones belonging to others.
"Partners" check (furtively) their mates phones and texts.
They are always talking about it on the Jeremy Kyle show.
I wouldn't dream of looking at somebody's phone - unless they had asked me to of course.
It is so wrong!
Must be about trust - or lack of it.
It's the equivalent of reading somebody;s diary.
So wrong!

Never rooted about on Mrs. Bleads phone, stick to the old adage, people who listen in on others never hear anything good about themselves.

I do, however check her credit card statements.

It's never even crossed my mind to look at OH's phone, let alone anyone else's. That said I wouldn't have a clue how to access texts on his phone anyway.

It wouldnt occur to me tbh.
Ours are always lying about and sometimes we borrow each others phones if they're more convenient.But I'd never check for something.

Never once checked my hubby's, I access his FB but only to keep it up to date as he works so much it would never be updated otherwise.

To my knowledge he has never checked mine, but has read texts out to me if I have asked him too.

My OH and I just use each other fones depending on who has free calls/more credit. If I have his phone and a text comes through, I read it. Mainly because it could be a work txt and I'll ring him on my fone if he has that with him. He does the same if a text comes for me and he has my phone. Doesn't bother either of us because there's nothing to hide.

Why would anyone do that? He'll use my phone and I'll use his but neither of us would check each others sms. I might go into his calls logs and he mine to see when we orderd stuff ie pizza or taxi etc..

I should think OH has only sent about 4 - yes 4 texts in his whole life!!
His phone is NEVER on either.
