I think she thought the middle aged, middle class, middle Englanders would agree with her
That might be the case. But I still can't fathom how she could be surprised at the level of offence she caused. She must have known how much it would upset people - which is why I don't believe her "apology" for a second.
She knew what she was doing, all right.

Easy Deman! I read Petercat's comment and didn't take it as a tarring of the same brush on all journo's. There are some fantastic ones out there, I've worked with some myself, thankfully none work for the Daily Mail.

Re the article, well what else can you expect from her? I have expressed my views (which included my saying her services would be better served at the BNP) - am waiting to see if it gets published. Tick, tock....

It's the "and that's saying something" crack that I didn't like.
And I've already explained that. I could denigrate some Civil Servants I have met, too. Or shop assistants. Or politicians. The point is that I'd be talking about specific people I have experience of. What I didn't say is "all journalists are stupid" and I object to you putting those words in my mouth.

I'd like to meet one of the 1000's who wrote in to support her,   I think we can knock off the last 3 ooo's on that score, Even in saying sorry, she's bitter & nasty,

I'm  about her stand on how can they say "Natural Causes" when we've not had the reports back, but it's OK to print what she sees as the cause of death, without having all reports back.

Whatever?

I'll just say that I'm surprised, Demantoid. I'd always thought of you as one of the more mature and thoughtful posters from BBGF and someone who could have an adult disagreement. You've taken me aback with your attitude here. I didn't mean to offend and I'm sorry you've taken it that way, but honestly the negative implication was in your head, not in mine.

As for "kicking the arse" out of this, I'm just trying to make sure I'm not misunderstood. There's no call for you to be offensive about it.
