Brilliant film, especially the commotion with those two hideous sisters and the foo-foo mould!
Sajid, the circumsion, the parker coat and the Arabic watch
It was the very first film I bought in DVD format.
I remember Anna from BB1 wanted it when they were offered a film in the house, and had never heard of it then, so I made a point of watching it.
Love it - like you say Darlo - funny but lots of messages in it.

"He hasn't had his tickle-tackle cut? Show meh!"
The bloke who played Jim in Enders is the horrible old racist neighbour.
The bit where they're eating sausage and bacon and the dad is walking down the street so they have to hurry and hide it whilst tidying up, Sajid weeing up the wall is funny also. And you can take Laurel and frigging Hardy with you about the not so good looking girls in the arranged marriage.

"them two monsters"
The art painting when it ends up in the mans lap. East Is East broke the stereotype and although controversial educated people in a way.

It's a mould of a floof, taken from the fat one out of the two white girls who keep hanging round the lads. And it lands on one of the arranged brides' ... eerrrrmm.. floof
Also when one of the lads goes out clubbing and they come back drunk, Sajid when he gets his coat stuck on the bedroom and hears about the marriage.

Didn't like the bit when the father hits the mother though still laugh at those two sisters and the mother's friend referring to them as "little belters"
I love this film. Watched it a few nights ago....again.
The bit where they are talking in the back yard and a woman comes out and goes "can you keep it down I've got a husband on nights" and the reply is "frig off.....and wash yur bastid curtains".
Watch it with the subtitles on.....so funny

Cagney, that bit made me laugh so much, because it reminded me of my gran.
We had a horrible family who lived up our road when I was a kid, and they were such dirty skangers, the stuff hanging on their washing line was filthy. God knows what it was like before it was washed.
My gran was visiting and got into a row with the old bag in that house and told her to get indoors and "give your towels a bloody good boil"
