They do look sweet, as in cute and not tasty. Can't get my head around them as pets tho', and what would they be fed on? Interesting...
Aww they're cute. We used to feed stray hedgehogs with cat food or bread soaked in milk

They grow to two pounds in weight?! That's not pygmy hedgehog, that's normal hedgehog! Unless normal Egyptian hedgehogs are enormous.

Wild hedgehogs really like kibble. I read that bread&milk is bad for them but cat food is fine. My mate has a large traffic cone in his garden that they absolutely love! We made a wooden base, cut the top of the cone off, and filled it with straw. He has hedgehogs all year now.
There's Sphinx sized hedgehogs roaming around Cairo, Daniel. Anything smaller than a Ford Fiesta constitutes a miniature.
I don't think milk is good for any animal....or so I read. What is kibble?

It's that dried crunchy food cats and dogs eat. We bought some commercial hedgehog food for a baby born last month to try to feed him up before the winter. It's kibble-like. The baby loves it!
