The behaviour of that pensioner was disgraceful - sounds like she's not fit to drive one of those things - they should have to take a test of some sort to be allowed to use one - I have been walking down the pavement and encountered them and they always seem to expect you to leap out of their way.
I know they allow infirm people to get about a bit more, but they have to be used safely.

What a disgusting way to behave! That old woman just seems like she couldn't care less. OMG if that had been my daughter and the old lady behaved like that to me I don't quite know what I would have done that was within the law!!!

I feel so sorry for that poor family and the little girl. I hope she recovers well and has no lasting damage.

God some pensioners make my blood boil they really do!!!

That's terrible - poor little girl.

Some of these people on mobility scooters are downright dangerous, we have one by us who just drives off pavements on to the road without a thought for anyone else and has had so many near misses with cars.  He just shakes his walking stick at the car driver as well as if it is their fault.

Not saying all are bad, but maybe some sort of proficiency test, like for bike riding and insurance would be an idea?

The pensioner was in the wrong, totally, and imo has a terrible attitude and should have shown remorse.
Whoever took the pensioners keys is also in the wrong imo. Just because someone is disabled does not give others the right to treat them like that. They should have been allowed to leave the scene if they chose to do that. The same as any other scum who hit and run.

What a load of rubbish the local police talk, of course the woman could be prosecuted, under the same regulations that are used for cyclists. Mechanically propelled vehicles are covered under all kinds of regulations if they look hard enough.
Half the older people who use these are not disabled, they just don't like walking. Be interesting to know what the vehicles capacity is as some of them should not be on the pavement but the road, all depends on the speed.
