Unfortunately we have cloud cover too. Shame ....i remember a couple of years ago the same thing ........it was awesome we sat in the garden for hours on our recliners.

2am - 4am is the peak.

It is all over the country, but it will depend on how much cloud cover you have. Apparently there'll be clearer skies in the north.

Perseids lasts quite a few weeks... its just that tonight is the peak of activity. So if you don't see any tonight, its worth looking tomorrow and the next night.

We made a thing of it as a family two years ago (was an exceptional year for it, cos the moon was at its smallest, so less light)... and they were really amazing. I'm hooked on it now.

I actually thought you were gonna say you got struck by a meteor!

I once sat on one. A huge brown slug with black spots, it was about 5 inches long and crawling on the lavvy seat in my cloakroom just inside the back door. I didn't notice it as the seat was black. We bought a white toilet seat very soon afterwards.

Thanks for the tip Soozy...... when me and my son do the same I'll remember to put my shoes on.

We have no light polution here was really looking forward to it aswell, the last time I saw it was in england near New Brighton the whole prom was packed with people....

I used to use an inhaler that you had to pierce the capsule with first.

Pierced it several times, and thought it felt a bit stiff.....sucked in an earwig


Ran on the spot for about three minutes afterwards.
