DAY 69

12.05pm

Big Brother has gathered all housemates at the dining table for this week's shopping task. Siavash has been provided with instructions and a chalk board, with pictures of the housemates.

Siavash reads the task laminate. Housemate cheer as he announces this week's task will be a celebration of all things British. Rodrigo, Big Brother has already determined, will take part in an etiquette challenge. He must select two further housemates to take part. Another challenge includes a horse racing task, where jockeys will gamble some of the shopping budget on a horse race.

Rodrigo selects Dogface and Charlie to join him on the etiquette part of the task, despite Bea asking to do it. Lisa and David volunteer to take two of the three jockey roles. Siavash assigns himself to the bog swimming challenge. Bea wants to take the second spot on this element of the task, but so does Marcus. Marcus suggests a coin toss, which he wins. Despite admitting it was a fair resolve, Bea asserts she really didn't want to be the third jockey.

Some of the housemates joke about their pictures on the chalk board, but not Marcus. Marcus does not appreciate his publicity shot in the least. Bea sits beside him, having previously announced to be 'positive' she asks Marcus 'cut me some slack' about the task roles seeing she is making special efforts to be so positive today. But Marcus turns the conversation to his own grievance, his chalk board picture, which he claims is so awful that it upsets him to the point of wondering if he should even have come on the show. That picture alone to him is the worst element of his Big brother experience. 'I look like a tool' he complains.

Bea then proceeds to the bedroom to tell Rodrigo and Dogface that she was really best suited to the etiquette challenge. Dogface asks her what 'elequette [sic]' is and Bea explains, adding that she would have been the best person to do it. Rodrigo calls this "arrogant" and Dogface agrees says that they'll 'show her'.

12.37pm

Some of the housemates are in the bedroom. Bea and Marcus tease Rodrigo that an element of his task may be to meet the Queen.

Marcus comes to the diary room to complain to Big Brother about the picture he saw earlier. 'My picture's made me sad again' he complains, and lists the size of his forehead and a stray tuft of hair as particular causes for annoyance. 'It's not me'.

Lisa and Bea are in the garden. Lisa tells Bea 'They're [Marcus, Halfwit and Siavash are] picking on you'. Bea complains about not getting the task position she wanted. Talking about Marcus winning the bog swimming coin toss, Bea says 'He only wanted to do it because I did'.

Bea continues, saying 'and then he whinges about his picture'. Bea has no sympathy for Marcus thinking the picture makes him look bad. 'I wanted to say: you look in that picture how you do in real life'.

2.16 pm

Bea, Lisa and David are jockeys. They will be betting on the 2.25 which took place at Newmarket on Saturday. They have been given a form guide and a stake of £40 which they must split between themselves. If they bet on the winner their winnings will go towards the shopping budget. Bea, David and Lisa read the odds in the kitchen.

Siavash and Marcus will be celebrating the Welsh bog snorkelling championships. Every time they hear 'You'll hear a welcome in the Hillside' they have one minute to make their way to he start line. Housemates must swim the length of the bog to the finish line where they must stand and shout 'Oggi Oggi Oggi, Oi Oi Oi!'

If Marcus and Siavash successfully complete their bog snorkelling challenge they will win £80 towards this week's shopping budget. If they fail, they will receive £25. Housemates enter the garden and react to foul smell the bog. The pungent odour causes David to speculate that it is filled with fish guts.

The music starts and Marcus is the first to take on the bog swimming. David repeatedly makes 'comedy' gags at the smell of the bog, whilst Bea shouts 'Get your face in it!'

Siavash takes his turn and as the bog water splashes over housemates run back in unison out of its path. When Siavash finishes his lap, he stands dripping with bog water, his beard thick and brown with sludge.

4.24 pm

Charlie and Halfwit are in the sitting room. Big Brother has provided Halfwit with some bagpipes. In order to pass his part of the task and receive £80 towards the shopping budget, Halfwit must learn to hold a note continuously for 30 seconds. Halfwit blows short, squelchy notes into the bagpipes.

Siavash and Marcus are in the garden. They are talking about how selfish Bea is. Siavash suggests that her disapproving view of how the task roles were assigned is a prime example of this. He reasons 'If you're having a positive day, say: f*ck it, I'll do any task'. Marcus adds "She says 'I don't want people to paint me with a negative stereotype'. You're the only one with the paint brush round here'.

5.37pm

All of the housemates have been gathered in the sitting room for the results of this week's nominations. Earlier this week Big Brother changed the rules so Housemates are now permitted to discuss nominations. As the results are announced, Marcus seems pleased to be up. When Halfwit's name is up, there is total silence, until David breaks saying 'Is that it?!'

Halfwit calculates that Rodrigo and Charlie must both have nominated him. He is surprised by Charlie's vote but remains optimistic that 'Marcus will go'. Housemates disperse leaving Halfwit alone in the sitting room to continue practising the bagpipes. In the garden Bea and Dogface predict Marcus will survive the eviction. Back in the sitting room, Halfwit attempts to blow the bagpipes but fails to generate a sustained note. 'That's sh*t' he whispers.

6.21pm

Halfwit is in the diary room. Big Brother asks Halfwit how he is feeling about nominations. He replies that he had hoped David would also be up. He also thinks it is possible he could go this week since he has not been himself.

Big Brother then asks Halfwit to show him how his task practise is going. Halfwit holds a long if not particularly tuneful note on the bagpipes. Big Brother asks him if he has any Scottish ancestors. Halfwit replies 'No'. Big Brother quips 'Didn't think so'.

Most of the housemates are in the living room. They are talking about Halfwit being too confident. Charlie disapproves of Halfwit's comment after the nominations result that Marcus will go. Dogface notes that public opinion can change very quickly.

6.38pm

Halfwit, Siavash and Marcus are in the garden. Halfwit says he plans to avoid conflicts at all costs in an attempt to avoid eviction this week. He suggests to Marcus that he should start lots of arguments but Marcus points out this is a bad idea as some people might love that and vote to save him. He reveals his master plan is to do nothing but sit in the corner.

The three then set about at predicting who will be nominated next week should Marcus be evicted. Siavash fears it will be Halfwit and himself, which surprises Halfwit. He argues that he won't be up again but Siavash assures him that if Marcus left he would most certainly be up for nomination week after week. Halfwit remains positive, reminding them that a lot can happen in a week.

7.36 pm

Earlier today jockeys Lisa, Bea and David had £40 between them, to place a bet each on the 2.25 at Newmarket which took place on Saturday. The housemates have been gathered in the living room to watch the race. One of their horses must win in order for their winnings to go towards the shopping budget. If they lose they will receive nothing.

Lisa bet on Recession Proof at 13 to 8. Bea selected Yayga at 2 to 1 and David put his money on Scuffle at 11 to 1. The race is played into the living room. Jockeys watch and cheer from their enclosure. None of the jockeys backed the winner and David's face is filled with disappointment.

8.27pm

All of the housemates have been gathered in the garden for Halfwit's challenge. In order to pass the task and win £80 towards the shopping budget he must hold a note for 30 seconds. If he fails, he will receive just £25 towards the shopping budget.

Halfwit passes the task on his second attempt. He continues to blow the bagpipes past the 30 second mark and adds a confident jig as he plays. Big Brother announces that Halfwit can stop as he has passed his task. All of his fellow housemates congratulate Halfwit with handshakes and hugs. Bea is the final housemate to do so, and as she does, she pulls a strained face.

8.41pm

Most of the housemates are in the garden. Siavash swims a final lap of the bog and Big Brother announces the end of that part of the task.

Rodrigo, Dogface and Halfwit are in the kitchen. Dogface asks Halfwit how he is feeling about the impending eviction. Halfwit hopes Marcus' fans will vote him out as he wishes. Prompted by Halfwit, Rodrigo is forced to explain that he nominated him because of the incident in which Halfwit played a part in the housemates losing their luxury food. Rodrigo is upset that Halfwit has asked him questions about his nominations when he knows how he felt about the rule change. Rodrigo reiterates that he does not wish to discuss nominations.

He did nominate him.

I agree Siavash can see what will happen,if he stays, Freddie will be up next week. The way things are going it could be against Bea.

Has the potential of being quite negative for Freddie.. but it depends on how he puts things facial expressions etc. Seems to be quite a bit of focus on him believing he is safe and is staying.. that could end up looking arrogant again.

Going to be an interesting couple of days seeing who gets good edits out of the two.

Laugh

Wiki definition...

Rag-and-bone man is a British phrase for a junk dealer. The phrase referred to an individual who would travel the streets of a city with a horsedrawn cart, and would collect old rags, (for converting into fabric and paper), bones for making glue, scrap iron and other items, often trading them for other items of limited value.

They would use a distinctive call to alert householders to their presence, and/or ring a hand bell. The call was something similar to "rag-and-bone", delivered in a sing-song fashion.
