Rex was just as bad to Rachel

Remember when he kept tearing into Rachel all the time and it was absolutely relentless. He just wouldn't give up when it came to her and he was very nasty yet still had a huge fan base. I am not sticking up for Bea but imo, part of the reason this looks worse is Freddie's over the top, angst ridden Drama Queen reaction to it all

.

As I said before, he seems to have little experience living in the real world where yes, there is conflict and nasty people about. He has been cossetted by wealth and class and in his posh circles, they'd more than likely 'pretend' to like one another for fear of upsetting anyone or causing a scene.

And when you think about it, that isn't a healthy way to live either as it's all emotionally fake.

Just an opinion of course and how I kinda see stuff so dinnae have a go at me lol

i think she may have gone a tad overboard with Freddie, the few fans she had on here seems to be deserting her hourly.. i still like her (dons full metal jacket) .. i think Freddie's " you did, you did say that" speech was one of the all time most memorable moments of BB..it was somewhere between hilarious and painful !

Yes, Rex was bad to Rachel, but to compare that with what Bea is doing, is not in the same league - imo.

I feel I am going round in circles, trying to explain Freddy and defend him. I think anyone with an ounce of compassion can see the poor bloke was suffering and in distress. Whether people think he is a drama queen or not, well we all see thinks differently I guess.

Rex did have some decent weeks and I liked him in the beginning. Then when he started on Rachel and the girlfriend turned up, that's when it all went wrong for him.

Judging by Bea's reaction to what she's done to Freddie, I reckon she may calm down and leave him alone unlike Rex. Oh man was he relentless with Rachel! It went on and on night after night until the end of BB9. Freddie made me laugh out loud in bits because he was so theatrical even though he was obviously hurt.

Well said Lass. There are gentle people in this world as well as hard cases. We aren't all made the same and the world is a poorer place if we can't feel compassion for another human being made to feel wretched.

I haven't seen her reaction, I can't imagine her having any feelings of guilt about what she has done or is doing. I still think Bea's treatment of Freddy is far worse than Rex's treatment of Rachel, although both bad.

Yes, Freddy can be theatrical at times (although seeing him like this is awful), which is another reason why I like him - his eccentricity is wonderful.

I'm not surprised about the anti Bea feeling.. after all every pantomime has to have it's villain.. and when one is booted out they are quickly replaced with another in the eyes of the forum.

Freddie was over the top. He is over the top most of the bloody time. If I were genuinely that upset and hurt.. if I were unable to get the words out to put my side across.. if I were having a panic attack and someone was the cause of that.. I wouldn't be in the same room as them.. I would remove myself. I'm not saying he wasn't upset.. but his recounting of the incident to Siavash had a definite spin and he added some venom in the form of the theatrical delivery of the words.

I watched the programme with someone last night who has no axe to grind with either of them and has watched a handful of them and he said that he would have told her to wind her neck in and given him a smack around the chops and told him to grow the **** up.

I do think we are fighting a loosing battle with the Bea hating but i for one still rate her as one of the best HM's BB's ever given us .. i do wonder if she'd talked to Lisa like that would she have been hailed a hero... ?

He can react however the hell he likes.. it is my choice whether to accept it as completly genuine or not. Had this been an isolated incident and all I have seen of Freddie then maybe I would.. but it isn't and I don't.

I was one of the few who didn't Freddie bash over that.. because I'm not bloody naive enough to think they're all perfect or evil and every situation is black and white.

I don't think anyone is saying Freddy is perfect, well I'm certainly not. I have said on numerous occasions that he has flaws, like any human being. But, imo, he is fundamentally a decent bloke and that's good enough for me

well you may be the exception here LL.. the rule seems to be ignore what Freddie may have done to contribute to this or compound the problem, ignore any context or creative editing, ignore that a few days ago the same criticisms were being levelled at him, get out the blamethrower..

Rex was nothing like Bea, he did pick on Rachel a bit, but mainly cos she was being boring and fence sitting in a house that needed a bit of fun. he was never underhand in his tactics and never played the victim when rachel occasionally bit back. ............god I miss his beautiful ginger cornetto head

Bea on the other hand is a whining cauldren of malice, snobbery, and faux hippy phsycology (sp) I can't decide whether to love her as a housemate or smash a brick through the telly just so i don't have to hear her patronising voice banging on about her favourite word negativity anymore..............................aaaannnnddd breathe!!

I have to agree.. when I watched last night I felt sorry for him, but having watched it twice I thought he really milked the situation for all it was worth and the way he was telling Siavash what she said was more for the cameras ,every word was deliberate and precise ,unfortunately Freddie went along with the ganging up on Dave and other stuff she was doing in the house, she was having an arguement in the bedroom and he could not wait to get in there with a big smile on his face watching her rip into others , he had no empathy for other victims of her horrible tongue he went down the same road as Lisa.

Rex was'nt that bad to Rachel. He did have the occasional dig but never upset her to the extent Bea did Freddie. Rex at least allowed Rachel room to get a word in edgeways!
