Yeh I think that may be right. Marcus is one of the strong HMs and at this stage that is who they are aiming for.

It's a shame that other HMs who have had less of a role in the series go further. That's nothing new though the final placements in a Big Brother series have little worthwhile significance with the manipulations, even though some viewers make a big deal of it. It never is about the audience deciding, it's more a mix of the HMs and the producers deciding.

Exactly ... all of the most recent BB winners have been 'safe' HMs who avoided controversy, were considered 'nice' by most of the other HMs and by the (easily influenced it would appear) general public and whose 'qualities' were spun by C4's ridiculously biased editing ...

Freddie should have kept to the gameplan and nominated David, big mistake Freddie.

There was a lot of frustration about her requests to be nominated - but no real sign that she wanted to go home.

One valid vote against her in 9 rounds of nominations - Sophie must be an absolute pleasure to live with...

Or she is easily manipulated and never has much of a thought of her own. Gos never got any nominations in BB4 I think, but was one of the most boring HMs ever. I guess he must have been nice to live with, still didn't wish to watch him on TV though.

No real sign she wanted to go home? Well you could say that about anyone who doesn't walk couldn't you? She's put herself up for nomination several times (as bad as Siavash), has been threatening to walk at times as well.

Gos was Week 7 evictee - up and out at the first time of asking IIRC - Sophie has survived being up for eviction 4 times. It would seem that Sophie is adored by housemates and the public alike.... Cool

I really think she deserves Top Female this year - and all being well, an exit through the front door on finale night.

More like less hated than others rather than loved. Not much competition now for 'top female' lol. The only story she had was the fake romance with Kris. Otherwise she just keeps her head down or slyly makes comments behind backs.

With the block voting Sophie is not in the firing line compared to Marcus, and Marcus certainly knew he was nominated anyway (which is why any remark he made was just a self-justification for the nominations). Lisa the head of the other group has always been the main target of the others, and David being virtually surgically attached to her had been the other. Sophie that way can fly under the radar (as can Charlie). Similarly Siavash flies under the radar by kissing ass.

Those who speak out and don't fly under the radar are always targeted more, doesn't mean they are worse people necessarily.

This pretty-much sums-up Sophie for me.

Barring a major twist or disaster, she will finish as "top female", but only by default: Bea could have gained a lot from Feddie's fans (that's how she survived on Friday), but she's blown that now big-time; Lisa was never in the running in the first place.

Sophie was lucky that Kris left before their showmance damaged her, but the problem is that she's done absolutely nothing since. Of course, she's not the only one in there that you could say that about...

We're going to lose one of this year's biggest characters this week, and barring a nominations twist, we'll probably lose another one next week. The result is likely to be that, as with a few previous series, we'll end up with a fairly bland bunch of HMs in the final week, and the public will be hard pushed to think of any strong reason why any of them should win...

I don’t think that “less hated than others” really works, I don’t think that evidence exists to support it at all. For instance, if you take a look at “most disliked housemate” polls on various BB sites you will find that Sophie always figures at, or around the bottom. So, to be less disliked than Rodrigo or Siavash, actually suggests that she is well liked.

To use a sporting analogy; you can only beat the competition that is put in front of you – in that respect – 9 other females, Sophie has done rather well.

Your final negative comments, as we have discussed previously can apply to most housemates, but less so to Sophie imo. Take a close look at the behaviour of your Three Amigos on the Tuesday night HL show for examples of slyly making comments behind peoples backs…

The reason you provide for Bea’s opportunity of becoming “top female” is by default – her association with Freddie. Sophie has got this far on her own merit, and with a support built steadily over time; as Marcus astutely noted; Sophie has not changed throughout the series.

Success on BB can be down to what you don’t say or do, rather than what you do say and do. Keeping away from controversy can be the smart option when the supposed “big characters” are creating drama and headlines, and usually their own premature demise from the show.

My hope for the remaining weeks is to see more of the quieter characters, such as Sophie and Rodrigo; I’ve had enough of your “big characters” to the extent that I don’t even care which one goes this week. I find The Three Amigos dull beyond belief, uninspired, and weak – whatever became of the individuals?
