I would never wear real fur. There`s plenty of good fake fur around, if you like that look. Personally, I think fur looks better on the animals.

What about cow skin that we use for leather? or snake skin? Are we picking and choosing?

It is Not acceptable for her .....but it is of course acceptable for people who dont have a credit card/supermarkets/department stores...i: e not in the western world lol
I would also like to know how she can bang on for an hour at charlie about worth while charity work etc etc, then turn round and say 'oh ive never done it myself i thought about it before my degree and after but im here now'........that was the after explaining that science fiction is an attempt to detract from serious and important issues in the world such as war poverty etc....does she not realise that being in BB or watching it for that matter....is exactly the same. Articulation doesn't equal brains you silly spoilt ( i get sacked all the time!) little girl!!!
If she was a child of earth as she suggests she can start taking employment more seriously some people are losing their jobs because of a Global Reccession not because their favourite fruit tea wasn't being stocked in the office kitchen ffs!
I do want her to stay as she gives me something to yell at since i stopped using sky, which means i can no longer scream at ultra extreme right wing Fascist Bill O Reilly on Fox news!!

I agree with your point PCE. Leather is a by product of the amount of cows we slaughter in this country for meat so it would be wasted if we didn't use it (a worse thing imo). I think fur can be acceptable in that respect, but I don't agree with killing animals specifically for fashion purposes.

Leather is quite easy to avoid. There are great vegetarian shoe shops around .quote:Originally posted by pretty~cocoa~eyes:no belt or shoes?quote:Originally posted by scatterby:

I've no objection to the skin/fur/hide of an animal being used if the animal was killed for it's meat. If the animal lived a good life on a farm, where it wasnt stressed (ie hunted, stalked, clubbed) and where the kill was quick, clean and efficient. But fur from an animal that is killed in an obscene way (saw it on Sky News once), and skinned (often times while alive to avoid damaging the fur apparently??!!) just for fashion and the carcass then thrown away for greyhound feed sickens me.
The biggest threat to our planet is cows u know...

No and I don't use leather for shoes or belts either
If she were an eskimo or similar and had to kill an animal to survive, then fair enough but otherwise no.

Not too sure about that, but I do know that A LOT of what people think is snakeskin is actually chicken leg skin as it looks exactly the same! We had a chap from a leather company come to visit us as Uni and he showed us all sorts of skin/fur. It was really interesting to see what they can do with it and where it comes from.

I've also noticed that real leather shoes/bags/belts are really expensive now for some reason and sold in "quality" shops or designer or the continet whereas cheaper shops in the UK mainly seem to stock synthetics. I used to have to buy expensive vegan footwear from select shops or buy second hand but now you can buy them anywhere.... you just have to ask yet another question... is this product ethical? You pay dearly for having ethics...
No, it's totally unacceptable and I would spit on someone who wore it
Not surprised that Bea wears it though, she probably breeds kittens as a hobby solely to use for bog roll

It takes several dumb animals to make the coat ,but only one dumb animal to wear it
How do we know that she wears it?
I can't believe she wears fur she has to be the worst hippie i've ever heard of but then come to think of it she is entirely faux, from head to toe.

BBLB. they sent someone to look at her flat
he pulled out a fur coat from her clothes rail.
It was real fur, not fake.

..entirely faux apart from the fur I should have said.
I hated the way that dyed mongolian fur trims crept into mainstream fashion on coats and jackets a while ago to imitate the afghan coats that were so popular in late sixties culture. There is no need for that now and no excuse.
