Probably more repeats of friends, or some other crap they put on early in the morning.

No, more in the sense of what are they planning to do that they don't want US to see?
or to protect their golden boy.

The "conspiracy theory" answer would be "to justify the loss of 24/7 live feed."

The whole thing is self-fulfilling. BB says there's no demand for live feed. What LF they do show is restricted to late night coverage. Inconveniently (or conveniently, depending on how cynical you are Wink), the HMs go to bed early this year, so there's little to see anyway. Viewing figures are therefore low, so C4 can then say it justifies their decision re LF. Furthermore, it allows them to scrap what little coverage we still have.

It's much easier to control without live feed. People won't be able to question what they put in the HLs or how they edit it anymore.

Channel 4 though seem to have less and less commitment to the program, strange as it's been one of their most popular programs.

i dont think there is space for any more nails in the bb coffin at least as far as ch4 is concerned.

Doesn't seem to stop them trying, though, does it?

no,true.

i wonder if they are planning on pulling the show completely but waiting until final week to do it to maximize their income from voters and maximize the annoyance to the people still watching.

because they discovered there were still a few fans they hadnt managed to pi$$ off just yet?

You've got that right. They obviously cannot believe some "real" fans will stay around for any crumbs Channel 4 will offer.

BB costs something like ÂĢ60m a year, it's unlikely any other channel outside of the main ones could afford it - sky, five - maybe.

but it's a damaged brand, it's never going to get back to the 5 million averages it got during BB5 and Five/Sky are doing pretty ok without it. ÂĢ60m for >2m viewers (should it move channel) is far too much

Cut Davina McCall and that gets rid of some of the cost. BBLB hasn't been needed for years. Why not have a subscription live feed on the internet? It can't cost that much to stream on the internet, all kinds of people do it.
