Those stupid comedy plastic bracelets that Bea insists on wearing to appear more hippy, are hardly the height of expense.
Lets not forget the frightful cheap looking straw hair extensions she puts in, which IMO do not suit her, she looks better with natural hair.
OMG!! Could they be from...dum dum dum; Primark?!quote:Originally posted by ŅÏÎđâŅŅОÏηКŅÎģ:

Hey spider, wheres your Freddie sig.?
My girls and their friends go to Primark a lot if theyve got the money and joke that it is their "designer place " and they say it is in fact pronounced "Pre- Marchei"

No, they're not classy enough.

Freddie and Bea sat at the bus stop. Bea ripping Hira to shreds, accusing her of being fake, of not really having a fashion designer background, and the way she dresses would suggest she shops at Primark.

Maybe you should tell them that Primark exploits young children. It's not a joke to the kids in India who have to work for your daughter to have a stroll in Primark.

My niece buys a lot of stuff for herself and her little girls in there .......they always look fab.
When I ask her where she bought something she says 'PRIMANI'

I have bought from there in the past, but have found the quality of some of the stuff very shoddy and second-rate, and sometimes it ends up like a rubbing rag after 3 or 4 washes. It's false economy IMO; it may be cheap and cheerful but the quality is rank for some of the stuff IMO.quote:Originally posted by ~~KaffyBaffy~~:quote:Originally posted by Little Miss Spurs:

I haven't bought from there in about 5 years, and wouldn't buy from there again - ever. Also know quite a number of people with the same view. False economy. Cheap, yes, but it doesn't last.
Not one where you live? Or by choice do you mean? Ive never seen a Matalan, myself, which is meant to be good tooquote:Originally posted by ~~KaffyBaffy~~:quote:Originally posted by Little Miss Spurs:

You're kidding? BEA OF ALL PEOPLE said that?!
This would be the same Bea that walked in with ratty synthetic hair extensions, and wearing what looked like a couple of white bed-sheets cobbled together for a Little Bo-Peep look?
I've not bought anything from it,after seeing a show on the TV about how they exploit the workers that produce their "wonderful" cheap goods.
You can buy those bracelets in Primark I think thats were she bought them she is such a snobquote:Originally posted by ŅÏÎđâŅŅОÏηКŅÎģ:

I think they've recently opened up in one of the bigger towns near here... but I never shop there (don't like RL shoppig as a rule!) so.. unless they go online.... There is a Matalan near me though and I've bought from there, but it's a bit hit and miss. OK for cheap summer t shirts that only need to last a summer.
It made me wonder how the hell those families would survive WITHOUT that income - its all very well boycotting these shops but until theres something else in place what happens to those who lose the jobs?quote:Originally posted by kattymieoww:

That's a fair point MoFo (I've not seen the documentary so don't shout at me) I've worked for a Chinese company in the past and whilst we'd think the pay was shocking, people actually thought it was wonderful to be employed by our company as, by comparison, it was a brilliant job. They lived on site, in dormatories, with on site leisure facilities like a cinema etc. They'd come from the provinces work for two or three years, then take their earning back home and be able to set up their family with farms etc.
Night all! Cannot believe I have spent so much time on here today. Very naughty Have to go else I will be on here till God knows what time Even my kids are in bed before me and that is unheard of in the Holidays!!! Luvoo xx
