OK, so we don't mind six year olds having pretend babies, pushing them around in prams, changing their nappies, giving them bottles of milk, bathing them?

Hopefully, we don't mind them pulling their t-shirts up and pretending to breast feed them, or putting them up their jumpers and pretending to give birth?

Crying noises are OK, as are giggles and whingey noises?

So, just the suckling noise is 'creepy' and vile and totally inappropriate for a child! Crazy Laugh
I really don't like to see little girls being given baby dolls to play with; I hate the idea of reinforcing stereotypes with toys like that. My daughter never showed any interest in baby dolls or Barbies when she was little, which was just as well as I would never have bought her one Big Grin. I remember my mother in law buying Growly Jnr a baby doll when she was about 4 - she took one look at it, declared it to be 'really horrible' and it sat in the spare room until it went to a car boot sale.

me and you (and your daughter it seems) are very alike Laugh

except i don't fancy John McCririck Ninja

i'm not girly at all, never been maternal...so never seen the point in dolls. best xmas present i ever got was a crayola set that taught you how to draw cars graphically correct Thumbs Up Laugh

Me neither!

I was bought a doll and I chopped its hair off and drew a moustache on it with biro.
Even at that age I was fighting for equal rights and thought it was outrageous that all baby dolls looked like middle aged women.

It was the only doll I was ever bought. Laugh
