Awwh that's lovely Big Grin

The nicest wedding I ever heard about they got married in a church then were whisked off to this massive field where there was a marquee all covered in ivy and flowers and fairy lights and everyone brought their own tents and just camped in the field and just had a jolly old time then saw the B&G off in the morning on the honey moon.

Wow! That sounds brilliant, less of the 'pomp' and more fun!!!!

I once went to a Wedding where the Reception was a Medieval type Banquet, they had Court Jesters and everything, the food was served on platters and we all dived in and ate with our hands! Thumbs Up

Yeah! It gave me the idea for my birthday party Laugh

And they invited only their closest friends and family so they just spent the whole time with the people that meant the most to them, which I was thought was lovely.

That sounds amazing!! Laugh Eeker

I was at my brother in laws wedding in Poland two weeks ago (less said about that wedding the better)... but as we were queueing up behind two other wedding parties to get married (I kid you not), one wedding party came out.

She looked gorg, he was in full military get up, he had a little baby in his arms... as they came down the stone steps the full wedding party was behind them, they paused on the steps for photos.

We all smiled at them... not one of them smiled... not at all! No expression!

they were all like this ----> Disappointed

It was the same for the next two weddings!

Poland is bizarre! Nod

That's sounds like what I want to do for a blessing in a couple of years time. We didn't really have a wedding, just got hitched at the registry office with a couple of mates present, went for a drink and a meal and then went home. We're on about having a blessing on our 15th anniversary. I just want a marquee in a field, maybe do a hog roast type thing, some barrels of cider and beer and a live band, and just having loads of mates for a good old shindig. Nod
