We were given the yummy 'ipecacuanha syrup of figs and squills' concoction. I loved it, and my brothers gave me theirs too! I was a very regular child

a cake goes hard when it goes stale, a biscuit goes soft.

I used to get that as well.. but following the syrup of figs came...cod liver oil..yuk!!! followed by the nhs orange juice, and if I was very lucky Virol Yum!!
