"But officials at the crematorium, which is run by Milton Keynes Borough Council, routinely impose an extra charge if any funeral runs over its 30-minute slot."

This awful incident aside...how disgusting that people are getting fined at all... it seems like a conveyer belt system...get em in rush 'em out....people should be allowed as much time as they want Mad

I bet the council employee feels like a right turd now.

The trouble with 'bad service' stories like this is that I can't get past the obligatory picture of the disgruntled person looking, well, disgruntled. They really make me laugh. I'm dead confused now because I want to laugh at the archetype but cry at that really very sad and emotional line.

Cremations are like a conveyor belt - ppl should not be fined though - I mean fair enough if there is a funeral due in straight after let the ppl before know that time may be tight but if there is no-one else due in there is no problem with the previous family taking extra time!!

Ppl should never be fined though!!

That one line as had me in floods of tears.

Me too longcat, that was so sad.
And then to be fined for having that bit of extra time, disgraceful.
