Steven Spielburg to remake Harvey

It's been announced that Steven Spielburg is going to remake the 1950 claasic film Harvey which starred James Stewart. The chances are that the Stewart part will be played by Tom Hanks.

Before you say why have I posted this in the Lounge rather than the film forum, I have a question for you.

Who would you choose to play the part of Harvey?
For those of you who have never seen the film, Harvey is a six foot invisible rabbit. As Harvey doesn't have any lines, no acting ability is needed.

Harvey is a Pookah, and is invisible to all except James Stewart, so the viewer sees him when James Stewart's character is speaking to him.

Anyone get the feeling that I've seen this film?

It was quite a long time ago, and now I think about it we (the viewers) maybe only saw Harvey at the end.

Hmmm....I'll have to check on that now, or I'll never get to sleep tonight.

Or was it just in the advertising?

In general I'm not too keen on 'remakes', but I could imagine that Tom Hanks would make a reasonably good job of the James Stewart role.

In the James Stewsrt film, the credits say that Harvey appears as himself.

And any remake should do the same.

Tom Hanks is a logical choice for Elwood Dowd, but if he's not available then I can guess that the alternative would be Nicholas Cage.

Just gone and checked it out and we DO see Harvey at the end.
