IF - and it seems a big if at the moment - BB11 goes ahead next year I would like this to happen:

When the audtitions take place, the would-be housemates are told that there is the prize money for the winner, but that is it. None of the others will stand to make any money out of the programme from magazine deals, TV appearances etc etc. It will be like the first BB (and to a certain extent the second one), when it truly was a social experiment.

I wonder if half these wannabes would fail to apply, and we'd get some decent human beings in there for a change.(A couple this year fit that mould, but we still don't know if they're doing it for the deals afterwards). If the media said no publicity after eviction night, it might make a hell of a difference.

What do you lot think (if you have the will to trawl through this rather long rambling)?

I've said this for 4 years, they should sign a contract to have no media deals after the show. It's a simple idea on how to get the show back to basics, doesn't take one brain cell to work out how many topless models, budding singers not and clowns are going to apply. They all are media savvy, and it's lost all recognition of what the show was supposed to be about.

I think instead of saying they won't make any money from magazines etc they should write in the contract that any money they make from these deals will be given straight to BB and they wont see a penny of it. Because lets face it some mags will always offer them interviews but at least they wont make any money. That would put loads of them off too.

Totally agree Moomin but it would be hard to enforce it now. I preferred it when it was just a social experiment, and liked it when they had Big Brother`s Big Brain and psychologists and sociologists discussing human behaviour. Its been turned into a human circus with side shows now.

Tis easy.... all housemates chosen from THAT years auditions. No 'dry run' people. No seeing people put forward by agents (in fact, it should be part of the contract that when they go in the house, they don't have an agent).

And, understanding that normal (as in everyday) people are interesting. That bizarre and weird characters often have that persona cos there is little underneath the facade.

Choose people who we would find interesting to talk to in real life... not who we would run away from if they accosted us in Tesco's!

If this was made clear that this was what was wanted, then audition vt's wouldn't be such false cringey hyped up sequences... and would be harder to blag!

Stop trying set up previous years storylines that made ratings peak... let them develop naturally.

Finally, stop box ticking the psychological screening process... if someone of sound mind goes into meltdown, we can handle that. But watching someone with obvious issues, lose the plot is not entertaining... its cruel.

Clapping

What could have been more absorbing than the Nasty Nick chain of events - that was one of the things that really made BB successful in the beginning, not the freak shows.

I'm sure BB never expected that to happen, but it was compelling viewing without any need for "set-ups"
