Still aimee, they shouldn't even have jobs listed that are below the minimum wage.

Maybe this job was able to get around the rules by stating it was an apprenticeship or summat Confused

think this is what they are trying to do, i've been on it for 12 wks now so they want me off it, but seriously how do they think i can work for that Roll Eyes

just ask why you are not entitled to minimum wage. ask why this place of work are not obligated to pay it.

something very wrong there .........if you dont pay minimum wage you can be prosecuted surely.

Oh its legal all right, as long as they stick, trainee or aprentice at the beginning of the job title.

YTS = 4 days work + 1 day of college for the grand total of ÂĢ28.00 a week. I was a YTS office junior 23 years ago, my roles included being a PA to 2 managers and managing the bookshop, including serving and banking the takings. When it got too busy they employed a Manager for the bookshop on a starting salary of ÂĢ14,000.

To offer someone ÂĢ2.70 an hour with the cost of living today is very insulting even though you are a learner. This Optician should be named and shamed. You don't have to say but is it one of the big names like Boots, Specsavers?
