Had surgery in March... severed APB, severed radial collateral ligament, damage to the synovial saddle and carpometacarpal joint..

Anyhoo.. finished physio about two weeks ago and been allowed to use my hand 'normally' again.. but last week I started to get an increase in the pain at the joint and stiffening.

I'm a bit worried I might have done something to it.. and tbh I'm a bit scared to confess this to the unit at Hospital because they'll bliddy kill me if I've buggered it so soon.. Ninja The consultant did say it could be painful for up to a year after surgery but it wasn't too bad and seems to be going backwards if anything. Is that normal.. Ninja

Your best bet would be to have a quick word with your physio about it, or failing that , your doctor.

I haven't felt any pings or pops.. and my thumb isn't flopping around and able to move places it shouldn't (like it did when it was injured Eeker).. so I'm hoping it's just that.

I know.. I should ring up my physio.. but quite frankly the woman is lovely... but bliddy frightening.. Ninja

Ok.. Ninja I'm not good at this malarkey. And I will have to confess to holding something heavier than 4kg. She'll kill me.

Get on the phone ya wuss. Believe it or not, they really don't want you to be in pain, and if you don't let them know soon as, you might do even more damage, and end up losing the whole arm! Hope this helps...no need to thank me Big Grin Valentine

I know.. I'm pathetic.. I admit it. I just don't do medical malarkeys.. you know what I was like post surgery and through physio.. I couldn't be doing with it. I think I'm worried I've done something to it.. because I can't go through months of physio and not being able to do anything again. Frowner

I'll ring. She'll kill me. But on the upside, if I'm dead, at least I won't have to wear that frickin' splint.
