O/T - Uploading onto the tube! Help!

As some of you will know I am planning to go into the studio to record some songs, but before that I did a test run at a home recording studio but I'm finding it difficult to upload to you tube.

I've put a song on with a slideshow using Windows Movie Maker before and don't usually have any trouble but for some reason it won't let me upload this song. I think it might be because it' an mp4 file, but I'm sure the last one was aswell. I know there's an easy way round this but I can't think what! Any ideas?

Am I right to think that .mp4 indicates a music file, and not a video?

Try saving it as .mpeg

PS this comes from someone who doesn't use Movie Maker a lot

Mp4 files will still upload. I've uploaded mp4 files before.

Although if your using windows movie maker it won't be in mp4 it will be a wmv file, and this too should upload fine.

mp4 is a video file, mp3 is a music file.

I just went into the bit where I would upload music from and when I went into the folder of my music there was nothing there

You must have saved the file elsewhere.

no the file wa fo saved there, went into the filethat's my own music (t hsall different artists) and when I clicked on my name and Unknown album no song came up.

yess I had a look at the vid but didn't seem to help me.

Dunno, if you can help, my problem is just that when I go to choose to import the music to the movie maker when I select the folder I want to go into it comes up that there is no music in there (even though there is as when I do it by oing via my documents it allows me to open the track).

Any ideas what to do?

thats an easy prob to solve.

i have to know what software you're using first?
what file extention the music has
also if you're using a vid , what file exetention is that?

When you are importing

Down at the bottom there is a box saying 'All Media Files'

Click on the arrow and click on 'All Files'

Do you see anything in the folder now?

What do you mean?

You've made the video and have saved it to your computer and when your uploading it it won't upload?

Or are you talking about importing to Windows Movie Maker?
