That happened to me Dobby. I struggled with them for weeks then finally went back to the optician. They had made a mistake with my script and they had to change the lenses. I'm not saying this is the case with yours but it would be best to go back and have them checked.

It will take you time to adjust to them ... the ground will look like it's coming up to meet you for a day or two ... don't go back to wearing your old ones though ... your eyes should adjust to the new prescription soon ...

Oooops ... just realised after posting that you meant reading glasses ...? Might be just your eyes adjusting, but as BB says if you're still seeing double after a few days, bring them back to be checked ...

I got new reading glasses this year,they are stronger than my old ones(4 years old)I use them for reading,but they told me to use the old ones for the comp.The new ones "bend" the screen .

I have to see how I get on, she did say that they might change them - all a bit complicated.

They are single lenses. going to give it a few days and see how I get on.

Dobby, as you said you have another hospital appointment for your glasses in a fortnight, I would ring the hospital on Monday to check with them - you don't want to risk damaging your eyes.
I have never experienced double vision from new glasses but I had a problem with my present glasses and it turned out the person making them had misread the prescription.

Dobby did they test these new glasses with you at the opticians and how were they then?
Seeing double is not right. As Blackpud said phone them on Mon and explain the problem. If the old glasses are better then seeing double I would go back to wearing them, until MON.

seems to have settled down again, I will go back tomorrow. Maybe I needed a rest.

I always hate it when I get a new glasses prescription, takes a while to adjust, but you do.

I went to D & A for the eye test and waited for about 4 weeks for the glasses as they have made them, put them through a quality control check program and the "Computer Says No" so they wouldn't issue them so they kept remaking them over & over again. In the end I asked for my prescription so I could take it to Specsaver and they made me some glasses but I couldn't see properly through one lens so the lady in there figured out that the original optician's writing on the script was so unclear that his 2.75 was being read as 2.25.
So the moral of the story is "Shoulda gone to Specsaver" in the beginning.

I used to hate getting new glasses. It always felt like I was walking into the ground. Sometimes it takes time for your eyes to adjust to the new strength.

Judging by the amount of typos I make these days, I need to get my 'scrip renewed soon

I'm dreading it.....new specs always make me feel dizzy & naseous for about a week

I used to have 2 separate pairs as it's really my reading sight that is the main problem.
Of course, every time I was out and needed to read something the bloomin' specs were back at home.
I suspect varifocals is just a euphemism for forgetful idiot.

I'm already one of those - without the varifocals

Which is why I have about 20 pairs of specs dotted abround the house, in the car, inside several handbags.......even in the bathroom (to read labels)

I've got those..never again 6 months down the line I still can't read with them on,I use my old glasses. I went back but the prescription was O.K. so I just have to live with them.

Varifocals are wonderful! They do take some getting used to though.

I've been to specsavers this morning - she said that I need to keep wearing them for now and give my eyes time to adjust to the new prescription. She said go back if I start to feel sick though.
