got my new suite delivered at 8.30 am when the company said it would be with us between 8 - 10 am, mind you it is 3 months late

Argos delivered our garden furniture at 7 am a few weeks ago - was originally told between 7 am and 12 and then the evening before they phoned to ask us if it would be alright to deliver around 7 am and then on the morning gave us a ring 15 mins before to tell us they were on their way.

Well impressed.

had to visits from virgin techy types one was at 11:45 on a 8-12 time slot the other one phoned me 8:10 and i had to act as his sat nav to get him here, he arrived at 8:30.

I'm always first on the sainsburys run, in fact the driver usually phones and asks if he can deliver it early.

I re-arranged an appointment with them recently, you can ring 150 for free, I wouldn't worry, they want your money.

We ordered some new cushions on the internet, paid extra for next day delivery, come 4.00pm they still hadn't arrived. OH checked on-line despatch and it said that 'items tried to be delivered but no answer' we had been in all day so OH 'phoned the company. The man (who I think must have been the supervisor) said 'did you not get a card through the door'? told him there was not a card, he then went on to say 'I know the driver who was supposed to deliver and this has happened several times with other customer's, and aplogised. Can't believe in this current situation that someone with a job would be willing to lose his job cos he wants to go home early

I have waited 2 months for a replacement fridge freezer because my new one broke in the first week. It came yesterday and they wouldn't give it me because i hadn't defrosted the old one even though they only gave me 10mins notice. (And it was the fridge that was frozen because that was the fault). Now i am sat waiting for it to be redelivered and you know i am last on his list.

Argos are great for that - I had a table and chairs delivered last Saturday. They said between 8 - 12, phoned at 8.10 and delivered before 9 a.m. AND a text and a phone call the day before.

The people who brought my fireplace though....

Virgin are usually pretty prompt and the engineer always calls if he's been delayed..(at the caff).

DFS said they would deliver at 9.30 am and they were spot on too.


Usually, I am the last call before lunch or the one just before knocking off time

My theory is they are allocated a set amount of time per job - usually longer than they need. You probably are the only job on his list, so he decided to get ratted last night knowing he'd be able to have a lie in and still get to you on time. That's what you get for having them work on a Saturday!

My cable company (who also have planes) were on time,promised between 8 and 12, arrived 8.30. and I must say have never had any complaints at all.Been with them for years.. And they don't break down at the first downpour, or high wind..Maybe in a flood they might faulter..
