And don't forget the prog on Lord Byron on 28 July, narrated by Rupert Everett. Can't wait for that one.

Yeah, I noticed that advertised last night, Twee. I'll definitely be watching. "Mad, bad and dangerous to know"...my kind of bloke. Big Grin

Lady Caroline Lamb! Another quote from the said Lady about Byron .. 'that pale face is my destiny'. How true that was.

I also like the period you mentioned. Andrew Lloyd Webber owns quite a few of the pre-Raf paintings. And John Ruskin was Oscar Wilde's tutor. So many good things all connected lol.

Seems so, eh?

Lucky old ALW. If I could own any Pre-Raph it would definitely be 'Miranda - The Tempest' by Waterhouse (I adore Waterhouse).

If you ever get a chance, (and haven't already) go visit Ruskin's house in the Lakes, Twee - Brantwood. It overlooks Coniston Water and is blissful I believe you can even rent parts of it for a holiday. My idea of pure heaven.

I have googled 'Miranda' as I didn't know it. It is beautiful sub. I had never seen it before. ALW has got some of the lady lying in the lake pics, but I'm not sure of the name of the artist. I'm not really au fait with the Pre-Raf period, so watching the prog tomorrow will educate me. I would love to see JRs place in the Lake District. I bet it's spectacular.
