I've got Sky and have got my radio channels on at the mo (because I'm too lazy to turn the stereo on) and the station I'm listening to is Smooth London, but when I watch local news via Sky I can either watch Midlands Today or any of the other BBC local news channels across the country. Why doesn't the radio do this?

I think Smooth is nationwide on Freeview too cos I was listening to it when i was in Cornwall a while ago....but no other stations local to London were.

It would be good if some other local stations were available everywhere thru cable....and there's no reason why they shouldn't be.

Is there a Smooth WM?

There is one for the NE but they repeat the same songs, I think they only have about 10 compilation CDs that they just play in order every day. It's crap.

It used to be good thru the night but its crap now.

I can never find a station I really like. I can tell I'm getting older because R2 becomes more appealing by the day but then some of the presenters are just hideous people.

Virgin used to play far too much Oasis and U2 which filled me with a murderous rage (It's changed its name now I think?) I just love Spotify, it's practically perfect except I sometimes need new suggestions or recommendations.

I love Galaxy and BRMB Blush.

Don't mind Galaxy, especially breakfast time, but the only time I listen to BRMB now is Saturdays in the footy season for Tom Ross and the legend that is Bomber Brown!

Don't even get me started about Beacon.......!

Eeker, I used to indulge in the odd listen to Beacon even though they like the Wolves pmsl.

Used to listen all the time even though they like the Wolves, but the music has got crap lately!! Plus them liking the Wolves doesn't help!!

What kind of music does Heart play?

Heart is pretty crap...they seem to have a quite small playlist and they play the same stuff over and over.

We used to have it on in the office at work till people protested about it.

easy listening is how i would describe it, but it varies in its choices, i usually listen during the daytime and there are songs i know and latest releases. "more variety" is one of its catchphrases

I don't think the oldies would like Galaxy Shake Head, no offence but I think they just wouldn't like the r&b or dance tunes.

Darlo, I'm in my '40's and I quite enjoy it, having a dance around, just wish they would play a little more reggae, you don't get much good reggae on the radio!!

My "niece" thinks I'm quite trendy because I have Akron's "You're beautiful" as my ringtone!!

Cool Smiler, thats fun lol. They usually have their own channel don't they. It's good if theres some that listen, I thought it was more for us young uns because we like that type of music Big Grin.

The way I look at it is that if music is good, I'll listen to it, any genre, though I have always liked dance/R'n'B music. I like thing from early Beatles to Emminem. But must say my favourtie time for music was the early '80's, some fantastic music then that has lasted the test of time, also love Motown, especially '60's stuff.
