I work in the I.T. industry and know a lot of people who do. The vast majority use Firefox or more recently Apple's Safari. Few use IE. Link below.

It was the crash recovery untick that sorted mine the most. Fingers crossed it sorts yours too!
If it takes ages to load at start up...it maybe trying to update all the time...
Tools > Internet options > Advanced > Untick check for updates automatically....any updates can always be done manually with your windows updates.

It crashes a lot more then IE7 ever did, especially on this site and playing games.

Is this link of any help re IE6. I'm still using it and have no problems, I'm only having to consider 8 because of YouTube saying they'll be phasing it out
