Yesterday I popped down the local shops in my car.I live in a seaside village and it was a hot sunny day so the main road was solid traffic going both ways so I parked in a side street a few yards away.I only had my front tyres in a parking space and the back end of my car was blocking the entrance to a church hall car park.I checked that no one was parked there before I went to the shop, knowing Id only be about 5 minutes, decided to risk it.On my way back I saw a couple walking towards my car ,the man was ranting about my parking. They were on foot,I hadnt obstructed him at all. However he took it upon himself to shout at me,threaten me with police action etc.I explained that I was only a few minutes ,had checked carpark was empty etc but he carried on shouting at me.I got in my car and said "calm down" to him as I got ready to drive off.He flounced off and into church! Some Christian I thought!

I parked on the grass at a church once, when I was picking up my son from a playgroup in their hall. There were cars blocking the road both ways and no one was moving anywhere. I parked really carefully and didn't do any damage.

When I came out, a woman from the church had a right go at me and I explained why I had done it and apologised. She was still angry and, as she walked away, I said "How Christian of you?"!

She came back and apologised! Laugh

You should have said, "Satan told me to park here. His voice is particularly clear today". Devil

I wanted to follow him into church and stride into the pulpit and give a sermon on human kindness ,ocasionally pointing at him(Freddie style) and asking him to repent.

I guess some people think they have the moral highground just because they are churchgoers..rather than being congruent with the ideology and embodying its teachings...or trying to.

You will find more cars with fish on them parked wrongly in disabled or child spaces than any other.

I wholeheartedly agree and it makes me sad. I was in a traffic snarl up on a motorway a good while back where three lanes had to merge into one. I was letting a good number of cars in front of me but had to draw the line somewhere. The driver AND passenger in a car I didn't let in started swearing at me and giving me the wanker sign - and guess what - their vehicle was sporting the fish symbol. Christian indeed!
